Directions to and map of Edgbaston Reservoir
By Car from the North:
Enter
Birmingham on the A38(M) (Junction 6 of the M6). Leave at the second
exit. At the island take the third exit and follow the dual
carriageway Ring Road. Cross 2 sets of (crossroad) traffic lights
and follow the Ring Road round 2 further islands. Go across another
set of traffic lights and straight on at the next large island. At
the (5th) island, take the 3rd exit into
Icknield Port Road – signposted ‘Edgbaston Reservoir
Watersports’. The sailing club entrance is approximately .25 miles
on the left – just after the Centennial Centre – and there is a
signpost just before it.
By car from the South West:
Leave
the M5 at Junction 3 and follow the A456 Hagley Road towards
Birmingham. Follow this road around 2 islands to traffic lights at a
major crossroads. Continue to the lights at the next crossroads,
where the dual carriageway ends. Drive along the Hagley Road past
several sets of lights to the large Five Ways Island – do not take
the underpass! Take the first exit at the island and continue to the
next island, where you take the second exit into Icknield Port Road –
signposted ‘Edgbaston Reservoir Watersports’. The sailing club
entrance is approximately .25 miles on the left – just after the
Centennial Centre – and there is a signpost just before it.
By Birmingham public transport:
Travel
to Five Ways by rail on the cross-city line, or by bus. Take the 66
or 66A bus, which runs every 12 - 15 minutes during the day from the
stop adjacent to the Tesco Superstore. Ask to be set down at the
Centennial Centre. The Club entrance is 100 metres further up the
Icknield Port Road on your left.
If you wish to walk from Five Ways, take the Ladywood Middleway to the first island and then the second exit into Icknield Port Road. Distance is just over half a mile.
