Results for the Midland Area Circuit
Rugby and Daventry S.C. – 20th March
| Anthony Clay and (former member) – James Holmes | 2nd Overall |
| Ian Smith and Chris Smith | 6th Overall |
Cold wet conditions greeted the 17 entrants, but a decent breeze made for some very good and close racing throughout the day. A good one to blow the cobwebs away at the start of the season.
Middle Nene S.C. – 10th April
| Anthony Clay and James Homes | 2nd Overall |
| Paul Young and Alison Torrens | 8th Overall |
| Ian Smith and Chris Smith | 12th Overall |
Boat breakage meant that Ian and Chris missed one race so the result might have been a little better!!! But a fantastic day’s sailing was had nonetheless. 22 boats entered.
Sutton S.C. – 17 April
| James Holmes and Alison Torrens | 2nd Overall |
| Ian Smith and Chris Smith | 7th Overall |
Whilst Youngy was away sailing 60 footers around the Isle of Wight, (he’ll show the photos he took whilst perched 80 feet up the mast! – Scary!) James took advantage of Alison’s crewing talents and but for a costly capsize whilst leading race 1, may have done better than the very creditable 2nd overall. Sailed in very fickle conditions, their consistency in the two remaining races paid off, however, Martin and Laurens Davies’ experience of sailing at Rugby and Daventry S.C. meant that they chalked up their second victory in three events sailed so far. As for Ian and Chris – and event best forgotten, ‘nuf said!!
