About Midland Sailing Club

We hold club sailing every Saturday afternoon throughout the year. Between April and October we also sail on Wednesday evenings and hold regular ‘Family Fun Sailing’ Sundays.

Our galley provides refreshments during sailing and the bar is open afterwards and on Wednesday evenings throughout the year. We also hold a number of social events, including bar-b-ques and theme suppers.

We are an accredited RYA training centre, offering courses to get you afloat and sailing, refresh your skills if you have sailed before, and introduce you to racing. We also offer sessions for junior members during the summer.

The Club has boats that are available for members to hire. We have fleets of Optimists (for younger sailors), Toppers (single-handed boats for all ages) and Fevas (that offer exciting sailing for beginners and those with more experience).

You may already have a boat or be thinking of buying one. Our members are always willing to offer advice and guidance. We can provide storage for members’ boats, including indoor storage subject to availability.

Some members travel to other clubs to compete in Open Meetings of Merlins, Enterprises and GP14s, and we also host these events. And each September a group of club members travels to Southport to compete in the 24 hour race! This year, two of our junior members competed in the Enterprise Junior National Championships.
