About Me!
I've been a member of Midland Sailing club since 2002- long enough to be asked onto the commitee and now have the honour of being MSC's Vice Commodore!
I'm responsible for 'Membership Development' and this, it appears, includes all manner of club activities!
In February 2007 I bought an old Enterprise Dinghy No: 5704. On discovering that her original name was 'Tooktoolong' I restored this most appropriate name to her. It took too long for me to discover the joys of sailing, took too long for me to buy a boat and it takes far too long for me to finish races! She was actually named 'Tooktoolong' because it took such a long while to build her. According to club legend she was constructed from timbers from the Grand Theatre Wolverhampton. On hearing this I had just had to trumpet her name. From having a load of luvvies treading her boards she now has one fat luvvie sitting on them!
When not helming my Ent I can sometimes be found crewing a Merlin Rocket with Phil Bowden on Wednesday evenings.
If you've any membership issues, ideas for boosting numbers, any operational problems or are just looking for a bit of advice, then do please get in touch with me.
