Dame Ellen MacArthur’s visit to Midland Sailing Club

The Sailing Club is proud to be part of the local community and we extend our thanks to

• Jan Holland, Chair of Summerfield Residents’ Association for the opportunity to host the visit from Ellen and 150 local school children.

and to

• Ellen who spent a very relaxed hour or so with us chatting, having lunch and signing books and boats before presenting awards to local schools for their contribution to ecology.

The day was great fun and enjoyed by all.

The Sailing Club works with local schools, Birmingham Outdoor Education Centre, Birmingham Schools Sailing Association and Edgbaston Water Sports to offer sailing experiences to school children as part of their curricular and non curricular activity. We can cater for disabled children and have RYA Sailability status.

Midland Sailing Club also welcomes adults of all ages and abilities who are interested in sailing.
